The item we purchase, all store we visit, all media message we get and all decision we make in our everyday has been formed by the powers of showcasing. Marketing identifies consumers’ needs and, supplies goods and services to satisfy them. Therefore, businesses use the elements of marketing (tools), namely: product, price, place, and promotion to market and sell its product. These 4 P’s together constitute the marketing mix.
Marketing involves a number of activities. To begin with, an organization may decide on its target group of customers to be served. Once the target market is decided, the product is to be placed in the market by providing the appropriate product, price, distribution and promotional efforts. These are combined so as to achieve the marketing goal, and such mix is known as the ‘Marketing Mix’.
