Enslaves carried out resistance in there day-to-day lives on the plantation it was usually small acts of rebellion, better known as non-insurrectionary resistance. This was where enslaves did things such as:wasting soap, prolonging weaning period(done by females only), carrying out self harm on themselves , pretending to be incompetent. These types of resistance was carried out by both men and women enslave, sometimes they intentionally pretended to be ill to gain relief from thier harsh working conditions. Women were able to fake being ill more easily as they were expected to take care of the planters children and this made it more believable
Female enslaves were more often seen working in the household of planters, and because of this they sometimes use this to thier advantage. Poisoning of masters was very common. It seems like female enslaves may have done abortion to keep future children out of slavery. Even many planters were convinced that female enslaves knew ways of pregnancy prevention. The history of caribbean enslavement , the enslaves afriacans were seen resisting whenever they could. The probability of slaves being triumphant at rebellions or escaping and avoiding being recapture were so slim that most enslaves resisted in the small ways that they could.
