Discrimination must not be allowed to grow in school or in any other place in society
Discrimination must not be allowed to grow in school or in any other place in society. A direct approach to challenge it must be taken and schools have a Equality Policy that sets out how to tackle this when the situation arises. It clearly outlines that not only the children but also the staff have right to equal opportunities and how to protect others and ourselves from direct and indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation. A full report about it must be made and the situation will be investigated. Action must be taken either by group discussion, circle time or assemblies. The incident must be reported to the governing body of the school and to the local authorities if required.
